Steve Finkernagel Men's Golf 9/22/2015 6:11:00 PM Wilkes Men's Golfers Fall to Local Rivals Scranton, King's in Home Tri-Match Wilkes Men's Golfers Fall to Local Rivals Scranton, King's in Home Tri-Match DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team fell to local rivals the University of Scranton and King's College in a home tri-match Tuesday afternoon at the Huntsville Golf Club. Wilkes finished the day in third place with a combined score of 367. King's claimed second place with a team score of 363 while Scranton took home top honors shooting a combined 323 at the Par 72 course. Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) and Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) led the group of Colonel scorers each shooting an 86 on the day. John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) followed carding a 90 while Eric Geiger (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Schuylkill Haven) finished with a 105. King's was paced by Ryan Hettes who shot an 81 on the course for second overall. Matthew Kane of Scranton took home medalist honors carding a round-low 74 (+2) on the afternoon. Up next Wilkes competes at the Anthracite Golf Tournament on September 26 and 27. Saturdays action will be played at Glenmaura Country Club while Sundays play will be held at the Country Club of Scranton. Competition will tee off at 9:00 a.m. both days.
