Wilkes Men's Golf Concludes Day One of AGA Invitational

SCRANTON, PA – The Wilkes men's golf team finished day one of the Anthracite Golf Association Invitational on Saturday afternoon held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club.

Wilkes stands in fifth place of six teams following round one play combining for a 341 on the course. Marywood University claimed the top spot after day one carding a team score of 313. King's College followed in second place with a 315 while Scranton also finished with a 315 tied for second.

Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) notched a career-low round of 75 (+4) to lead the Colonel scorers. John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) followed carding an 82, while Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) finished with an 84 on the afternoon.

Austin Hackenberg (Middleburg, PA/Midd-West) (100) and Eric Geiger (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Schuylkill Haven) (103) rounded out the Colonel scorers in round one play.

Final round play will begin tomorrow starting at 9:00 a.m.
