Wilkes Men's Golf Takes Fifth at Anthracite Invitational

SCRANTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2015 Anthracite Golf Association Invitational on Sunday afternoon finishing in fifth place in the six-team competition. Round two was played at the Country Club of Scranton.

Wilkes shot a combined two-day total of 675 following a 334 on day two of the tournament.

Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) claimed third place overall at the event carding a 77 on day two following a 75 (+3) in the opening round. Anderson finished just nine over par (152) on the Par 72 course over the two rounds.

John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) followed with an 80 on day two finishing with a 162 combined score to finish tied for 13^th overall. Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) carded an 87 on day two and a total of 171 at the event tied for 18^th overall. Eric Geiger (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Schuylkill Haven) (193/25^th) and Austin Hackenberg (Middleburg, PA/Midd-West) (196/26^th) rounded out the Colonel scorers at the two-day event.

Wilkes hosts William Patterson on October 6 at Huntsville Golf Club at 1:00 p.m.
