Wilkes Women's Basketball Closes Out Non-Conference Slate with 63-58 Win at PSU Hazleton
HAZLETON, PA – Sophomore
Catey McFadden (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds leading three Lady Colonels in double figures as Wilkes University posted a 63-58 win at Penn State Hazleton Monday night.
Wilkes improves to 3-12 overall following the victory. Penn State Hazleton drops to 12-2 overall on the year after suffering the defeat.
With the game tied at 15 after one quarter of play, Wilkes used a strong second frame to take advantage outscoring the Nittany Lions 20-12 in the stanza on way to the non-conference victory.
Ashley Caster (York, PA/Spring Grove) joined McFadden in double figures finishing with 13 points and two boards while
Cara Basile (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 11 points and six rebounds.
Missy Oertner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) enjoyed a solid outing posting nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Wilkes returns to MAC Freedom play Wednesday when the Lady Colonels travel to DeSales University for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off in Allentown, Pa.
