Women's Basketball Falls at DeSales
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's basketball team fell at DeSales University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Wednesday evening by a 76-52 final.
The loss drops the Lady Colonels to 3-13 overall and 0-5 in MAC Freedom play.
Wilkes started the game on a 6-2 run, but the lead quickly evaporated as the Bulldogs closed the first quarter on a 17-1 run to take a 19-7 lead. DeSales did not relinquish the lead for the rest of the game.
The Lady Colonels were led by
Catey McFadden (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) (11 points, six rebounds) and
Cara Basile (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) (11 points, four rebounds).
The Bulldogs were led by Jen Napolitano, who totaled 14 points. Morgan McCollian finished with 12 points and four rebounds while Angelica Bertola added 13 points off the bench.
Wilkes returns to action on Friday when it will host FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action at 3 pm. The game has been moved up from Saturday afternoon due to pending inclement weather.
