Men's Basketball Falls at Home to Lebanon Valley
WILKES-BARRE- The Wilkes University men's basketball team fell by an 88-74 final against Lebanon Valley College in non-conference action at the Marts Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels fell to 5-8 with the loss.
Lebanon Valley had the largest lead of the first half at seven, but neither team was able to separate itself as Wilkes entered the half down 42-40.
With the score 52-50 Lebanon Valley and 16:45 on the clock, the Flying Dutchmen went on an 18-6 run to push its lead to 71-56 with 10:06 remaining in the game. Lebanon Valley's lead would not get below 13 points the rest of the way.
The Colonels were led by
Alec Wizar (Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona), who totaled 14 points in the game.
Marcus Robinson (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) added 12 points and seven rebounds, while
Zachary Walser (Marcellus, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) shot a perfect six-of-six from the floor to set a new career-high of 12 points off the bench.
The Flying Dutchmen were led by Sam Light (26 points, four steals), Andy Orr (17 points, eight rebounds), and Zach Mrozek (15 points, seven rebounds).
Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it resumes MAC Freedom play against Misericordia. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm at the Marts Center following the women's game.
