Wilkes Women's Soccer Battles Misericordia, Falls 3-1
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's soccer team battled Misericordia all afternoon but fell by a 3-1 final at Schmidt Stadium in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels are now 3-10-0 overall and 2-2-0 in MAC Freedom play.
The Cougars struck early in the fourth minute to take a 1-0 lead and added to their lead in the27th minute to enter halftime up 2-0.
Misericordia struck again in the 47
th minute to take a 3-0 lead.
Wilkes cut the lead in the 52

Brittany Gurreri (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown) tallied her first goal of the season with assists from senior
Caroline Connor (Penfield, NY/Penfield) and sophomore
Nicolette Towlen (Ewing, NJ/Ewing).

Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) made eight saves in the game.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eastern for a 3:30 p.m. MAC Freedom contest.
