D. Connor's Late Goal Lifts Wilkes Women's Soccer to Crucial 1-0 Win over Eastern
ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – Junior
Dianna Connor (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) scored in the 83
rd minute to lead the Wilkes University women's soccer team to a critical 1-0 win at Eastern University on Tuesday afternoon, a game in which both teams entered tied for the final spot in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) tournament.
The Lady Colonels are now 3-2 in MAC Freedom play and 4-10 overall.
While the score was tied going into halftime, the Eagles held a 7-4 advantage in shots while Wilkes had a 4-3 lead in corner kicks.
The Lady Colonels came out of the half on fire and outshot Eastern 11-4.
D. Connor put Wilkes on top for good with seven minutes remaining in the game with an assist from junior

Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) made four saves for her second shutout of the season.
The Lady Colonels finished with a 15-11 shot advantage, with 10 hitting their target compared to four for the Eagles. Wilkes also held a 7-4 lead in corner kicks.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they host DeSales for another key MAC Freedom match starting at 7:30 p.m.
