ST. DAVIDS, PA – Host Eastern University scored four first half goals then added three more tallies in the second half to post a 7-0 victory mover Wilkes University Tuesday afternoon at Olson Field.
 
With the loss Wilkes slips to 3-12 overall and 1-4 in MAC Freedom contests. Eastern improves to 11-3-1 and 3-2 in league games.
 
Cade Harmon put Eastern on the board in the match's first two minutes when he scored off a pass to the left of the box. Jake Sankey and Jacob Myers each scored goals at the 24:32 and 33:49 mark to extend the lead to 3-0 before Jamie Bonner found the back of the net to put the Eagles up 4-0 at the half.
 
Myers and Sankey each added their second strikes of the game in the second half before Ben Hangey ended the Eastern scoring run with a goal at the 72:55 mark.
 
Eastern held a commanding shot advantage dominating play in its offensive end throughout outshooting Wilkes 16-2. The Eagles also garnered five corner kicks while Wilkes went without a corner attempt in the game.
 
Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) finished with six saves in net for Wilkes. Ryan Shiner (Landisville, PA/Hempfield) entered in relief in the second half in net.
 
Wilkes hosts DeSales University on Saturday in one of two home matches left on the Colonels schedule. Match time is set for 5:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
