Wilkes Women's Volleyball Goes 0-2 on Day One of Colonel Clash
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team went 0-2 on day one of the 1
st annual Colonel Clash tournament, falling to Keystone College (21-25, 20-25, 23-25) and Moravian College (17-25, 18-25, 22-25) by 3-0 finals on Friday evening.
The Lady Colonels are now 10-17 overall.
In the first match against Keystone, freshman
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) led the Wilkes attack with 16 kills while junior
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) tallied 28 assists.
Freshman
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) led the back line with 12 digs while Morgan and senior
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added 10 each.
Against Moravian, junior
Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) finished with six kills while Paskas and senior
Abby Sanders (Allentown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) contributed five kills each. Morgan again led the passing game with 21 assists.
Mikovich led the defense with 12 digs while Betke and Boyle added 11 and 10, respectively.
The Lady Colonels return to action tomorrow at noon when they face the City College of New York and will conclude the tournament against Alfred State at 2 p.m.
