Wilkes Men's Soccer Topped by Ursinus 2-0
EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's soccer team made a late game push against Ursinus College, but ultimately fell by a 2-0 score at Schmidt Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels fell to 3-8-0 with the loss.
Ursinus got on the board in the 39
th minute when it scored off of a corner kick.
The Bears finished the scoring in the 48
th minute to push their lead to 2-0.
Wilkes had an excellent chance to get on the board in the 83
rd minute, but junior
Jon Lesko (Vestal, NY/Vestal)'s shot was stopped on the goal line by a Ursinus defender.
Colonels' sophomore goalkeeper
Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made six saves in the game
The Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to FDU-Florham for a 1 p.m. MAC Freedom match.
