CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore Morgan Jones (Huntley, MT/Huntley Project) set a new school record in the 6k and finished in the top ten while the Wilkes University women's cross country team finished 18^th overall out of 35 schools at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday morning.

Jones finished in 22:42, beating her previous record of 23:59 in a 6k race set at MAC Championships last season.

Freshman Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) (105^th, 25:40), freshman Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern) (121^st, 26:53), Carmen Hillman (Urbana, OH/Graham School) (167^th, 28:11), freshman Carly Hein (Northampton, PA/Northampton) (185^th, 29:12), freshman Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) (192^nd, 29:28), and junior Kaitlyn Sitch (Weatherly, PA/MMI Prep) (194^th, 29:42) rounded out the Lady Colonel finishers.

Wilkes returns to the course on Saturday when it competes in the Inter-regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University at 11:45 a.m.
