Wilkes Volleyball Goes 0-2 on Day Two of Lycoming Tournament
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team concluded play at the Lycoming College Tip-Off Tournament with a pair of losses on Saturday afternoon. Wilkes dropped a 3-0 decision to Alfred State before falling 3-1 against the University of Rochester in its final match of the tournament.
Wilkes slips to 9-15 overall following the four-match event.
Wilkes fell to Alfred State by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-20.
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the way offensively with five kills and nine digs.
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) followed with four kills and two blocks.
Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added three kills and three total blocks.
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) assisted on 11 of Wilkes' 17 kills in the match.
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) anchored the backline with a team-high 17 digs.
The Lady Colonels then fell to Rochester 3-1 by scores of 25-12, 15-18, 26-25 and 25-16. Mikovich topped the attack with a team-best ten kills and nine digs. Paskas contributed six kills while Scarfaro posted three kills on way to being named to the All-Tournament Team. Betke finished with 19 digs and Morgan with a team-high 23 assists.
Wilkes returns to MAC Freedom play Wednesday when the Lady Colonels travel to DeSales University for a match scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Center Valley, Pa.
