Jones Finishes 183rd at NCAA Championships Becoming First Wilkes Student-Athlete to Run at Event
LOUISVILLE, KY – Wilkes University women's cross country standout
Morgan Jones (Huntley, MT/Huntley Project) became the first student-athlete in program history to run at the NCAA Championships finishing 183
rd overall Saturday at the 6k race held at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

Jones crossed the line with a time of 22:30.3, the third-best mark in school history. Jones, who owns the top six times in the 6k in women's program history, ran her third-best time of the season after finishing tenth overall with a time of 22:00 at the Mideast Regionals last weekend. She ran a school-record 22:05 at the Inter Regional Battle earlier this season.
Amy Regan of Stevens won the overall NCAA title running a time of 20:16.4. Johns Hopkins won the team title with a combined score of 128.
Jones, just a sophomore, will look to continue to improve her times and make a return trip to the championships next season.
