WILIKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's basketball team is set to travel to Doylestown, Pa. to take on the Aggies of Delaware Valley University in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship on Saturday afternoon with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.

This is the Colonels first trip to the tournament finals since 2011-2012, when they faced Misericordia. Overall, this is Wilkes' ninth trip to the conference finals, with the Colonels winning four conference titles. Wilkes will be looking to secure its first championship since the 2000-2001 season.

The Colonels and Aggies have split the two previous meeting this year, with each team winning on their respective home courts. Wilkes was victorious in the first meeting at the Marts Center back on January 16^th when the Colonels won 60-57. Delaware Valley won the second meeting in Doylestown by a 72-60 final on February 13^th.

The Colonels are led by Second-Team All-MAC Freedom senior guard Alec Wizar (Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona), who is averaging 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists-per-game. Wilkes is also led by freshman guard Marcus Robinson (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional), who is averaging 14.0 points and 2.5 assists, while senior guard/forward Steve Stravinski (Pittston, PA/Pittston) is averaging 13.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

The Aggies are led by senior forward/center Chris Moran, who is averaging 19.4 points and 10.1 rebounds-per-game this season. Delaware Valley is also led by junior guard Tyliek Kimbrough (13.0 points, 4.1 assists), and senior forward Barry Brockington (11.8 points, 4.7 rebounds).
