Wilkes Men's Golf Top Rivals King's, Scranton in Local Tri-Match
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University golf team posted a combined 337 on way to a sweep over local rivals King's College and the University of Scranton Wednesday after at the Huntsville Golf Club.
Scranton followed in second behind the Colonels with a 339 while King's settled for third place shooting a combined 351.
Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) led Wilkes carding a team-low 83 on the par 72 course.
Michael Malshefski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) posted a career-best 86 while A.J. Isidoro and
Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) each shot an 84 for the Colonels who recorded their first two wins of the spring season.
John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) rounded out the Wilkes finishers carding a 92.
Kyle Hayes of Scranton earned medalist honors shooting a course-low 82 for the day. Ryan Georgetti topped King's with an 85.
Wilkes returns to the course Friday with a tri-match with Marywood and King's at 12:00 noon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
