Brownsey Nets Ten Goals as Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Defeats Eastern 19-6

Madeleine Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) continued her stellar week, as she scored 10 goals to lead the Wilkes university women's lacrosse team to a 19-6 victory over Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom foe Eastern University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in MAC Freedom play.
Wilkes was in control from the very beginning, scoring the first seven goals through the 23
rd minute, while Eastern countered with two goals in the final seven minutes of the first half as the Lady Colonels entered halftime with a 7-2 lead.
Wilkes scored four of the first six goals through the first 15 minutes of the second half, making the score 11-4. The Lady Colonels finished the game on an 8-2 run to finish the scoring at 19-6.
Brownsey finished the game with 10 goals and four draw controls. Sophomore
Jessyca Held (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) finished with seven goals and one assist for eight points, adding five groundballs, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers. Senior
Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) added two goals and two assists for four points with seven draw controls, three groundballs, and two caused turnovers.
Freshman
Tabitha Gravius (Howell, NJ/Manalapan) made two saves to earn the victory.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to King's for a 1 p.m. MAC Freedom game against King's College.
