WILKES-BARRE, PA – Trailing by two at the half, visiting Wilkes University scored 15 second-half goals on way to a 20-13 win at cross-town rival King's College Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win Wilkes improves to 11-2 overall and remains perfect at 3-0 in MAC Freedom play. King's drops to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in conference games after the defeat.

King's answered with four unanswered over a four minutes rally to take its first advantage up 4-3 with 10:25 left in the first half.

Brownsey and Tori Kerr (Beacon, NY/Beacon) scored goals in between two King's goals to keep the score 6-5 Lady Monarchs with under a minute left in the half. King's put one through with just :10 left to take a 7-5 lead into the break.

From there it was all Wilkes as Kerr went off for four straight strikes to start the second half while Brownsey added her conference-leading 78th goal to give the Lady Colonels a 10-7 lead. Another goal from Brownsey, two from Held and one from Melanie Rivera (Middletown, NY/Middletown) pushed the Wilkes advantage to 14-10 with 15:01 left in the second frame.

King's cut the lead to three at 14-11 but Wilkes responded with six of the games' next eight goals including man-up advantage goals from Brownsey and Held to secure the seven-goal road win.

Held led Wilkes with seven goals while Kerr added six and Brownsey five. Tabitha Gravius (Howell, NJ/Manalapan) finished with five saves to record the win in net. King's goalie Victoria Zawacki made 19 saves for King's in the defeat.
