SCRANTON, Pa. – The Wilkes University field hockey team won its fourth straight game, defeating Marywood University by a 2-0 final on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Colonels are now 4-2 on the season with the victory.

Wilkes started to dominate at the 10 minute mark of the first half, outshooting the Pacers 8-0 over the next 11 minutes.

The Lady Colonels got on the board in the 19th minute when sophomore Megan Kane (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) laced a shot that was saved by Marywood goalkeeper Kerri Mountz. Junior Keighlyn Oliver (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) corralled the rebound and passed across the baseline to senior Taylor Ryan (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) for her third goal of the season.

Wilkes extended the lead to 2-0 when junior Marissa Surdy (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) found Oliver on the baseline for her first goal of the season.

Oliver finished the day with three points on a goal and an assist while Ryan finished with one goal and Surdy totaled one assist.
