Wilkes Field Hockey Wins 2-0 at Marywood for Fourth Straight Victory
SCRANTON, Pa. – The Wilkes University field hockey team won its fourth straight game, defeating Marywood University by a 2-0 final on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels are now 4-2 on the season with the victory.
Wilkes started to dominate at the 10 minute mark of the first half, outshooting the Pacers 8-0 over the next 11 minutes.
The Lady Colonels got on the board in the 19

Megan Kane (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) laced a shot that was saved by Marywood goalkeeper Kerri Mountz. Junior
Keighlyn Oliver (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) corralled the rebound and passed across the baseline to senior
Taylor Ryan (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) for her third goal of the season.
Wilkes extended the lead to 2-0 when junior
Marissa Surdy (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) found Oliver on the baseline for her first goal of the season.
Oliver finished the day with three points on a goal and an assist while Ryan finished with one goal and Surdy totaled one assist.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Dallas Kendra (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) made three saves to earn her second shutout and fourth win of the season.
The Lady Colonels outshot Marywood 14-8, with 10 shots hitting their target compared to three for the Pacers. Wilkes also held a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Reading, Pa. to take on Alvernia University for an 11 a.m. non-conference contest.
