Wilkes Women's Volleyball Upended in MAC Freedom Opener at No. 13 Eastern 3-0
ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team opened its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) slate with a 3-0 (8-25, 17-25, 11-25) loss at No. 13 Eastern University on Wednesday evening.
The Lady Colonels are now 0-1 in MAC Freedom play and 4-5 overall.
Wilkes was led offensively by junior
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford)' seven kills. Freshman
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) followed with four kills while freshman Michelle Natale totaled two kills. Junior
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) finished with 15 assists.
The Lady Colonels back line was led by Mikovich and freshman
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) who finished with five digs each and junior
Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) finished with four.
Wilkes returns to action on Saturday when it will host a tri-match with Immaculata and the College of Staten Island beginning at 12 p.m.
