Wilkes Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Home Tri-Match
 
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team split a pair of matched at its home tri-match Saturday afternoon at the Marts Center.
 
The Lady Colonels fell 3-0 against Immaculata University in their first match of the day before posting a 3-0 sweep of the College of Staten Island in the nightcap.
 
Wilkes fell by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-22 against Immacualata. Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) led the offensive attack with five kills and five digs. Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) and Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) each tallied four kills and combined for 20 digs. Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) paced the passing game with 25 assists on Wilkes 26 team kills. Morgan also added a season-high two solo blocks from her setter position.
 
The Lady Colonels rebounded with a sweep of Staten Island in the second match of the day winning by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-15. Eight different players reached the kills column with Abby Sanders (Allentown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh)' four kills and two service aces leading the way. Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) added a season-best four service aces as Wilkes posted ten total service aces in the three-set win.
 
Wilkes opens its home MAC Freedom slate with a 7:00 p.m. matchup against Manhattanville College on Tuesday in the Marts Center.
