Wilkes Women's Volleyball goes 1-1 at Scranton Tri-Match

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Wilkes University women's volleyball team split it's tri-match with Marywood University and the University of Scranton at Scranton on Thursday evening, defeating Marywood 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-22), before falling to Scranton 3-0 (15-25, 9-25, 15-25).

The Lady Colonels remained at .500 and are now 7-7 on the season.

In the first match, the Lady Colonels attack was led by senior Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford), who finished with 15 kills. Juniors Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) along with freshman Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) each finished with 10 kills. Junior Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) led the passing game with 45 assists.

On the back line, sophomore Shayna Fehrle (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) finished with a career-high 21 digs. Mikovich (17), Paskas (14), and Boyle (14) each finished with double-digit digs. Mikovich tied her career-high with four block assists.

In the second match, Mikovich led the way with seven kills while Morgan again led the passing game with 12 assists.

On defense, Paskas tallied 15 digs while Mikovich added 12.

Wilkes returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Rutgers-Camden for a tri-match with Rutgers-Camden and Penn State-Brandywine beginning at 1 p.m.
