Wilkes Men's Soccer Drops Close Contest at Stevenson 3-2
STEVENSON, Md. – The Wilkes University men's soccer team battled back from a 2-0 first half hole but lost 3-2 at Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels fell to 2-6 overall with the loss.
The Mustangs got on the board with goals in the 3
rd and 10
th minutes for an early 2-0 lead.
Wilkes began to battle back in the 18
th minute when senior
Michael Hasbrouck (Vestal, NY/Vestal) scored with an assist from sophomore
Camry Huff (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro).
The Colonels struck again to tie the game in the 26
th minute when Huff added an unassisted goal of his own.
Stevenson scored the game winner in the 37
th minute, and neither defense surrendered another goal the rest of the game.
Sophomore
Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made six saves to keep Wilkes in the game.
The Colonels return to the pitch on Wednesday when they host Scranton for a 4 p.m. non-conference game at Schmidt Stadium.
