Wilkes Women's Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Rutgers-Camden Tri-Match
CAMDEN, N.J. – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team went 1-1 at a tri-match at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Colonels defeated Penn State-Brandywine 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-20), before falling to Rutgers-Camden 3-0 (18-25, 18-25, 17-25).
The Lady Colonels remained at .500 on the season and are now 8-8.
Against PSU-Brandywine, Wilkes' attack was led by freshman
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley)'s 18 kills. Senior
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) finished with nine kills while junior
Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) added seven kills. Sophomore
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) led the passing game with 31 assists.
On the back line, Paskas led the way with 10 digs while Boyle and sophomore
Shayna Fehrle (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) both added seven digs each.
The Lady Colonels finished the first match with a .330 hitting percentage and 45 kills compared to 22 for PSU-Brandywine.
Against Rutgers-Camden, Mikovich again led the way with nine kills while Boyle added eight and Paskas finished with five. Morgan again led the way passing with 22 assists.
Freshman
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) led the back line with 20 digs. Boyle added nine while Paskas contributed seven.
Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Madison, N.J. to take on FDU-Florham for a 7 p.m. MAC Freedom match-up.
