Wilkes Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at LBC Tri-Match
LANCASTER, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in a tri-match at Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday night. The Lady Colonels fell 3-0 to York (Pa.) before dropping a 3-1 decision to host Lancaster Bible in the nightcap.
Wilkes falls to 3-3 overall on the season following the pair of defeats.
York took the first match 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-19.
Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) led Wilkes offensively with six kills and one solo block while
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) followed with five kills and eight digs.
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) finished with 13 assists from her setting position.
In the second match of the night, LBC took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-22 before Wilkes rallied for a 27-25 win in set three to force a fourth set. LBC sealed the match with a 25-23 win in set four.
Mikovich enjoyed a career match with a season-high 19 kills and ten digs.
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added ten kills and nine digs. Morgan paced the passing game assisting on 45 of Wilkes' 48 team kills.
Wilkes returns to action Saturday competing in a tri-match at Keystone College. The Lady Colonels open with the host Keystone at 10:00 a.m. before a match with Penn State Berks at 12:00 p.m.
