Wilkes Men's Basketball Falls 103-76 to Misericordia
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's basketball team was defeated 103-76 by Misericordia in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom action at the Marts Center on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels fell to 8-9 overall and 3-4 in MAC Freedom play.
Misericordia started the game on a 20-10 run through the first five-plus minutes and entered halftime with a 56-40 lead.
The Cougars started the second half on a 6-0 run en route to the win.
Wilkes was led by sophomore
Connor Evans (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse), who finished with 19 points and two assists. Sophomore
Marcus Robinson (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) totaled 10 points and three rebounds while freshman
Johnny Bamford (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills) added 11 points to match his career-high in addition to four rebounds.
Tre Fields led Misericordia with a game-high 25 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Jason Kenny added 24 points and six assists while Tony Harding contributed 24 points and eight rebounds.
The Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware Valley for a 4 p.m. MAC Freedom match up.
