Three combine for 13 Goals in Wilkes Women's Lacrosse 15-4 win over Mount Saint Vincent

EDWARDSVILLE – Junior Jessyca Held (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) (five goals), junior Maura Brownsey (Glenside, PA/St. Basil Academy) (four) and sophomore Kyra Boccio (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) (four) combined to score 13 of the 15 goals that the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team scored in its 15-4 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday evening, with Held recording her 100th career score in the process.

The Lady Colonels improved to 3-2 on the season.

Held got Wilkes on the board first with an unassisted goal in the fourth minute before the Dolphins tied the game with 21:03 left in the first half.

Held pushed the Lady Colonels back in front with 19:47 on the clock with an assist from Brownsey but MSV was up to the task, tying the score just three seconds later.

Held recorded her third goal to put Wilkes on top for good, recording an unassisted goal with 16:01 on the clock. The Lady Colonels ripped off 10 straight scores, opening up a 13-2 lead. The goals came from Brownsey (12:51), Held (12:39), Boccio (8:03), Held (100th goal, 7:50), freshman Kayla Cadden (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central) (Held, 5:53), freshman Reilly Meanor (Etters, PA/Red Land) (0:33), Brownsey (Boccio, 20:29), Brownsey (19:41), Brownsey (Boccio, 13:55), and Boccio (12:35).

The Dolphins recorded back-to-back goals before Boccio finished the scoring with unassisted goals at 2:13 and 0:40.

Freshman Sarah Carlini (Collegeville, PA/Pope John Paul II) made six saves to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Maritime College for an 11:00 a.m. non-conference game.
