Arcadia Tops Wilkes Men's Volleyball 3-0
WILKES-BARRE – Visiting Arcadia University swept three sets on way to a 3-0 victory over host Wilkes University Thursday night at the Marts Center. The Knights took set one and two 25-20 before clinching the match with a 25-17 win in set three.
Wilkes slipped to 5-11 overall following the home defeat while Arcadia improved to 11-15 on the season after the victory.
John Pietrzyk (Glen Lyon, Pa./Nanticoke) and
Daniel Sales (Laflin, Pa./James M. Coughlin) each recorded six kills to lead the Wilkes attack. Sales also added 12 assists on Wilkes' 20 team kills.
Thomas Bogarowski (Hanover, Pa./Hanover) followed with three kills and two block assists while
Dylan Smith (York, Pa./Dallastown) added two kills and seven digs.
Jason Manley and Bryce Galloway topped Arcadia with match-highs of 12 and 11 kills each. Sean Cohen assisted on 35 of the Knights' 41 team kills.
Wilkes continues its home stretch Saturday hosting its first-ever tri-match with CCNY and Wells College. The Colonels host CCNY at 12:00 p.m. before a match against Wells at 4:00 p.m. at the Marts Center. Wells and CCNY will play at 2:00 p.m.
