WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's volleyball team defeated Medgar Evers College by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-14) final on Thursday evening.

The Colonels improved to 7-13 on the season with the victory.

Wilkes' offense was led by freshman Landon Bordner (Williamstown, Pa./Williams Valley), who had a career high 11 kills. Freshman Brian Vu (Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur) and senior Mike Morrison (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer) both had six kills, a career-high for Vu.

Freshman Salvatore Purpura (Plains, Pa./James M. Coughlin) finished with a career-high 26 assists.

Freshman Kyle Price (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) led the back line with six digs, followed by four from Purpura.

The Colonels return to action on Sunday when they host Penn State-Behrend at 1:00 p.m.
