Wilkes Men's Golfers Finish Third in Home Tri-Match
LEHMAN, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished third in its home tri-match with the University of Scranton and King's College Thursday afternoon at the Huntsville Golf Club.
Scranton took home first place shooting a team score of 304. King's finished second at 322 while Wilkes carded a combined 335 at the match.
Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) led all Wilkes finishers with a 78 on the par 72 course.
Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) followed carding an 80 while
Michael Malshefski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) finished with an 83.
John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) rounded out the Colonels scorers with a 94.
Corey Palma took home medalist honors shooting a five under par 67 on the day. Steve Lambrinakos topped Scranton with a 75, one of four Royals to shoot an 80 or under at the match.
Up next Wilkes will compete in the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championships on Saturday and Sunday at the Hershey Golf Club.
