Wilkes Men's Golf in 7th Place After Round One at MAC Championships
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in seventh place after round one of the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships Saturday afternoon at the Hershey Country Club.
Wilkes finished day one with a team score of 350 with five Colonels participating at the event.
Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) led the way carding an 83 on the Par 71 course.
Corey Cowitch (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) followed posting an 87 while
John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) finished with an 89.
Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) shot a 91 and
Nathan Hunter (Elysburg, PA/Southern Columbia) rounded out the Wilkes players with a 101.
Manhattanville College sits in first place with a team score of 314 with defending champion King's College following in second place eight strokes back at 322.
Chandler Longfellow led all players shooting a four over 75 in round one.
Second round play begins tomorrow (Sunday) at 8:00 a.m.
