Wilkes Men's Volleyball Falls 3-0 to PSU Altoona on Senior Night
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's volleyball team fell in straight sets 3-0 against Penn State Altoona on Wednesday night in the Marts Center. The Lions took the match by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-9.
With the loss Wilkes concluded its home match schedule with a 7-15 overall record. PSU Altoona improved to 22-5 overall on the year after the road win.
John Pietrzyk (Glen Lyon, Pa./Nanticoke) led all Wilkes hitters with 11 kills and ten digs.
Dylan Smith (York, Pa./Dallastown) and
Daniel Sales (Laflin, Pa./James M. Coughlin) followed with four kills each while Sales led the Colonel passing game with 17 assists.
Wilkes' lone senior
Mike Morrison (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was honored prior to the start of the match for all his contributions to the inaugural season of Wilkes men's volleyball.
Up next Wilkes travels to Staten Island, N.Y. Saturday for a tri-match with College of the Staten Island at 12:00 p.m. and Brooklyn College at 2:00 p.m.
