EDWARDSVILLE – In the first Wilkes University men's soccer game coached by somebody other than Phil Wingert in 35 years, junior Camry Huff (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) netted all three goals including the game winner 8:02 into overtime to give Michael Piranian his first career win as a head coach, a 3-2 decision against Penn State-Berks at Schmidt Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Colonels improved to 1-0 on the young season.

The Nittany Lions got the scoring started in the 16^th minute on a rebound off of a corner kick.

Huff tied the game less than 90 seconds later, converting a penalty kick after a Wilkes player was taken down in the box. Huff struck again in the 22^nd minute when freshman Lucas Snedeker (Scott Township, PA/Lakeland) played a perfect through ball to Huff, who beat a defender and the keeper giving himself an empty net to deposit his second goal.

Penn State-Berks tied the game in the 44^th minute on a shot from the top of the box that went in the right side.

The game remained tied through the second half with the Colonels keeping up their offensive onslaught, outshooting the Nittany Lions 11-4 while earning six corner kicks compared to three for Penn State-Berks.

Huff sent Wilkes into a frenzy in the 99^th minute when he took a pass from sophomore Kyle Bentz (Camp Hill, PA/Camp Hill) and placed it into the right side of the net to end the game.

The Colonels outshot the Nittany Lions 25-12, with 14 of their shots hitting the target compared to six for Penn State-Berks. Wilkes also notched seven corner kicks compared to six for the Nittany Lions.

Junior goalkeeper Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made four saves for the Colonels.

Wilkes returns to the pitch on Sunday when it will host Marywood at Schmidt Stadium for a non-conference game starting at 1:00 p.m.
