MAC Freedom Home Openers Next for Wilkes Basketball Saturday
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's basketball teams will host its first Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) home games of the 2017-18 season Saturday when Manhattanville travels to the Marts Center.
The women's game will tip-off at 1:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 3:00 p.m. Live links are provided below for fans who cannot attend either of the games:

The Lady Colonels enter with a 3-7 overall record and at 0-1 in MAC Freedom action after dropping the conference opener 90-59 at FDU-Florham Wednesday night.
Wilkes is led by sophomore
Alyssa Alfano (Dunmore, PA/Holy Cross) in minutes (30.0), points (10.2), assists (2.6), and steals (1.6). Her 40-of-51 shooting from the free-throw stripe currently has her ranked fifth in the MAC Freedom in free-throw percentage at 78.4 percent. Senior
Catey McFadden (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood)'s 8.3 rebounds-per-game rank third in the conference and she is also averaging 9.7 points in her seven contests this season. Sophomore
Gianna Roberts (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) is averaging 9.2 ppg and 5.7 rpg and senior
Emily Sofranko (Jim Thorpe, PA/Marian Catholic) is scoring 8.8 ppg and leads the Lady Colonels shooting 45.9 percent from the floor.
Wilkes is averaging 58.7 ppg while allowing 71.4 ppg.
The Valiants have started the season at 8-1 overall for the first time since the 1982-83 season and are on a seven game winning streak which is the longest for the program since the 2008-09 season. This will mark the first MAC Freedom game of the season for Manhattanville as its home conference opener against Misericordia on Wednesday was postponed.
Manhattanville is led by junior Kayleah McGuire's 15.8 ppg which is tied for the third-best scoring average in the conference. She is currently 48-of-92 from the floor for a 52.2 percent shooting percentage. Sophomore Nancy Caballero's 7.6 rpg rank fifth and she also scores 8.8 ppg. Sophomore Kymane Jones leads the Valiants with 4.1 apg which is good for third in the conference.
The Valiants are averaging 67.2 points-per-game while allowing a MAC Freedom lowest 45.7 points-per-contest.
The Colonels enter Saturday's contest at 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Freedom after opening conference play with a 75-52 victory at FDU-Florham Wednesday evening.

Zach Brunner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) ranks third in the conference pulling down 7.8 rpg to lead a Colonels squad that leads the conference with a plus 8.7 rebounding margin. Pecorelli, Robinson, Mullins, and freshman
Landon Henry (Hughesville, PA/Hughesville) all average more than two assists-per-game.
Wilkes is averaging 76.5 points-per-game and holding teams to 68.3 points-per-contest this season.
Manhattanville travels with a 6-6 overall record and are 0-1 in conference games after dropping Wednesday's home opener 81-56 to Misericordia.
Senior Alex Tuci is currently one of two players in the conference averaging a double-double (12.3 ppg & 10.1 rpg). Sophomore JoJo Cobbs leads the team with 13.1 ppg and senior Dom Arena is averaging 10.6 ppg and 3.6 apg.
The Valiants are averaging 66.8 points-per-game while allowing 78.1 points-per-contest.
