STEVENSON, MD – The Wilkes University women's cross country team finished 11^th of 14 teams at the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday at Stevenson University.

The Colonels five scoring runners totaled 331 points while Misericordia University took the team championship with 53 points. There were 134 total runners in the 6k race.

Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) led the Wilkes contingent in 76^th place overall with a time of 27:15.0. Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) was second across the finish line for the Colonels in 27:34.9 and 84^th place. Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) (85^th, 27:41.6), Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern) (100^th, 28:40.0) and Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) (103^rd, 28:50.7) rounded out the Colonels who scored.

Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) set a season best time of 29:28.5 to finish 109^th. Mia Walker (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) was 113^th with a time of 29:35.7. Cassidy Lee (Rocky Mount, NC/Nash Central) (115^th, 29:48.6) and Arianna Ryan (Brockton, PA/Tamaqua) (119^th, 30:15.0) both set career best times. Rounding out the Wilkes runners was Jill Weston (South Canaan, PA/Western Wayne) in 126^th place with a time of 32:15.9.

Wilkes has a week off before participating in the NCAA Mideast Regional in Center Valley, Pa. on Saturday, November 10.
