Wilkes Women's Cross Country Completes Season at 2018 NCAA Mideast Regional
CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team completed its 2018 season by placing 38
th out of 47 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional at DeSales University Saturday morning.

Seven Colonels participated in the 6k race with the five scoring runners earning 1,156 team points to place 38
th.
Junior
Caroline Rickard (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) was first across the line for Wilkes with a time of 27:20. She placed 209
th of 341 total runners with a 7:19 pace.
Autumn Pedron (Pottsville, PA/Minersville) followed closely in 213
th place with a time of 27:27.
Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) followed with a time of 28:07 in 239
th place.
Kyleigh Smeltzer (Manchester, PA/Northeastern) (262
nd, 28:59) and
Kaitlin Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) (278
th, 29:48) finished fourth and fifth for the Colonels to round out the scoring runners.
Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) (281
st, 30:02) and
Cassidy Lee (Rocky Mount, NC/Nash Central) (291
st, 30:37) rounded out the Wilkes runners at the regional event.
Felicia Koerner of Johns Hopkins University was the top overall finisher with a time of 22:32.
Johns Hopkins (36 team points) and Dickinson College (79) earned the two automatic qualifying bids in the NCAA Championships.
