Two First Half Goals Down Wilkes Field Hockey at Alvernia
READING, Pa. – Two goals in the first 15 minutes was enough offense for Alvernia University as the Wilkes University field hockey team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision on the road Saturday evening.
The Colonels fell to 3-3 on the season.
Alvernia recorded goals in the tenth and 15
th minutes to provide all the offense.
Wilkes came extremely close to goals in both fifth and 32
nd minutes when
Cheyenne Mazzocca (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) and
Madison Ensley (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic), respectively, hit the post.
Dallas Kendra (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) made four saves in the cage for the Colonels.
Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Moravian College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game.
