READING, Pa. – Two goals in the first 15 minutes was enough offense for Alvernia University as the Wilkes University field hockey team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision on the road Saturday evening.

The Colonels fell to 3-3 on the season.

Alvernia recorded goals in the tenth and 15^th minutes to provide all the offense.

Wilkes came extremely close to goals in both fifth and 32^nd minutes when Cheyenne Mazzocca (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) and Madison Ensley (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic), respectively, hit the post.

Dallas Kendra (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) made four saves in the cage for the Colonels.

Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Moravian College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game.
