Colonels Notebook
• The Wilkes University wrestling team will compete at the 2019 Budd Whitehill National Duals hosted by Lycoming College for the first time since the 2010 edition of the tournament when the Colonels placed fourth of 20 teams. This year's 16-team event will take place over two days with the Colonels scheduled to wrestle three dual matches on Friday and two more Saturday. Wilkes will open with Springfield College (3-1) at 10:30 a.m. Friday and then face off with Ohio Northern University (4-2) at 1:30 p.m. Day one will conclude with a big matchup for the Colonels against No. 21 Washington and Lee University (5-0) at 4:30 p.m.
Â
• On Friday, the 16 teams will be split into four 4-team groups and each group will compete in a round robin competition. Results from Friday's round robin action will place the four group winners together to wrestle for first through fourth place on Saturday. The four second-place teams, four third-place teams and four fourth-place teams from Friday's round robin group results will be placed together Saturday to determine the rest of the team results for places five through 16.
Â
• All-Tournament Team honors are awarded at each weight to the undefeated wrestler that earned the most team points per match, not including wins by default, injury default or disqualification. The Most Outstanding Wrestler is awarded to the wrestler that earned the most points per match on the championship team in the tournament.
