Tubbs' Tally Leads Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey at Post

SHELTON, Ct. – Shauna Tubbs (Maumee, OH/) notched her third career goal, but the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team fell by a 3-1 final at Post University on Friday afternoon.

Post got on the board ten minutes into the game with a power-play goal.

Tubbs evened the score on a power-play goal with 14:16 left in the second with assists from Nicole Longboat (Rochester, NY/) and Laura Brezinski (Ellicott City, MD/), taking advantage of a roughing penalty called on the Eagles.

Post retook the lead 11:31 into the second on an even-strength goal and finished the scoring at 5:48 in the third.

Alexa Rango (Hopewell Junction, NY/) made 36 saves for the Colonels in goal.

Kendall Castro (Killingworth, CT/) led the offense with nine shots while Tubbs and Cally Erickson (Carbondale, CO/) finished with six shots apiece.

Wilkes returns to the ice tomorrow when it finishes its two-game series with Post; puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
