Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Falls at Post
SHELTON, Ct. – Laurenne Fraser (Salt Lake City, UT/) and Kendall Castro (Killingworth, CT/) each registered a goal, but the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team fell by a 4-2 final at Post University on Saturday afternoon.
Post started the scoring with a power-play goal just under 12 minutes into the game, and doubled its lead with an even-strength goal at 14:12.
Fraser cut the deficit to one with an unassisted goal at 12:51 in the second period.
The Eagles regained their two-goal advantage on a power-play goal with 53 seconds until the second intermission.
Castro began the scoring in the third with an even-strength tally at 3:34 with an assist from Cally Erickson (Carbondale, CO/).
Post finished the scoring at the 8:02 mark with an even-strength goal.
Castro and Fraser both finished with nine shots while Erickson and Shauna Tubbs (Maumee, OH/) added four each.
Ally Joly (Lincoln, RI/) stopped 41 shots in the crease for the Colonels.
Wilkes returns to the ice on Friday when it will travel to Hershey, Pa. for a game with Lebanon Valley College scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
