Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Loses to Lebanon Valley 4-1
HERSHEY, PA – The Wilkes University women's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 road game to the Dutchmen on Friday afternoon.
With the loss, Wilkes falls to 0-13 while Lebanon Valley improves to 4-12.
Lebanon Valley struck first at the 6:31 mark of the opening period to take a 1-0 lead.
The Dutchmen would double the margin on the power play to take a 2-0 advantage late in the period.
The Colonels would cut the deficit in half before the intermission when Cally Erickson (Carbondale, CO/) scored her second goal of the season, on the power play, from Laurenne Fraser (Salt Lake City, UT/) and Shauna Tubbs (Maumee, OH/) at the 16:56.
Lebanon Valley would answer back with two goals in the second period, at the 7:40 and 8:24 marks, on their way to a 4-1 home win.
Ally Joly (Lincoln, RI/) made 34 saves for the navy and gold while Erickson led the Colonels with 10 shots.
Wilkes has a break before it returns to the Toyota Sportsplex on Wednesday, February 6th for a 7:30 p.m. rematch against Lebanon Valley.
