Snedeker's Three Points Lift Wilkes Men's Soccer to ECAC Second Round

EDWARDSVILLE – Lucas Snedeker (Scott Township, PA/Lakeland) opened the scoring and assisted on the game-sealing score as the Wilkes University men's soccer team advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Pod Four Second Round after defeating SUNY Cobleskill 3-1 at Bruggeworth Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels improved to 9-7-3 on the season.

Snedeker got Wilkes on the board in the 27th minute when he picked up the rebound from Gabriel Nieves' (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland Senior) point-blank shot attempt for a tap-in score.

The Colonels held the one goal advantage heading to halftime but the Fighting Tigers tied the score in the 49th minute on a goal from Emile Vwaza.

Danny McGinley (Brodheadsville, PA/Pleasant Valley) gave Wilkes the lead back in the 69th minute when he dribbled the ball through an opponents legs and beat Cobleskill keeper Rashawn Best. Jacob Bausher (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg Area) finished the scoring in the 75th minute with an assist from Snedeker.

Zach Tone (Easton, PA/Easton Area) made six saves for the Colonels and was aided by a team save. Kyle Bentz (Camp Hill, PA/Camp Hill) finished with four shot attempts.

Wilkes, the No. 2 seed in pod four, advances to take on No. 1 seed Stevenson University tomorrow starting at 12:00 p.m. at Bruggeworth Field.
