Fowler Scores Twice in Wilkes Men's Soccer 6-0 Win at Delaware Valley
 
DOYLESTOWN, PA – Wilkes University's Seth Fowler (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon) scored two goals as the visiting Colonels jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the break and never looked back on way to posting a 6-0 shutout at Delaware Valley University in both teams MAC Freedom season finale.
 
Wilkes concluded the regular season with an 8-7-3 overall record and 2-4-1 mark in league matches. Delaware Valley concluded its season with a 4-13-1 overall record and 0-7 in MAC Freedom play.
 
Fowler got the scoring going for Wilkes in the ninth minute when he notched his first goal of the game off assists from Kyle Bentz (Camp Hill, PA/Camp Hill) and Gabriel Nieves (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland Senior). Bentz then called his own number in the 20th minute scoring off helpers from Danny McGinley (Brodheadsville, PA/Pleasant Valley) and Nieves to up the lead to 2-0.
 
Fowler added his second of the half in the 37th minute thanks to passes from Bentz and Matthew Horwedel (Delanson, NY/Schalmont Senior).
 
Marc Kyriakidis (Sleepy Hollow, NY/Plesantville) (75th minute), Horwedel (77th minute) and Ryan Marr (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) (78th minute) rounded out the scoring for the Colonels who posted their fifth shutout of the year.
 
Nick Kinzler (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) earned the shutout in net for Wilkes finishing with two saves.
 
Wilkes will await word on a possible ECAC Tournament berth in the next week.
