Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Falls to Post 3-0
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University Colonels hosted the Post University Eagles in the second game of the Colonels home double-header at the Toyota SportsPlex.
The Colonels (0-6) failed to capitalize on any of their offensive opportunities and fell to the Eagle (5-11) 3-0 for the second day in a row.
The Eagles scored two goals in quick succession early in the first period, 5:12 and 5:33 into the period respectively. The Colonels outshot the Eagles 13-10 in the period, but failed to find the net. Neither team would find a point in the second period, but the Eagles put home a power play goal 8:45 into the third to add a bit of insurance on their way to a 3-0 victory.
The Colonels had 32 shots to set their season high as a program in the game. The two squads combined for 21 penalties in the game. Sophomore goalkeeper
Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI) had 35 saves in a losing effort.
The Colonels take Thanksgiving week off and return to the ice for yet another Saturday-Sunday home double-header. The Colonels host Anna Maria Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 at 3:30 p.m. each day. This will be the first time the two programs meet.
