First Half Push Leads Misericordia to Victory over Wilkes Women's Lacrosse

DALLAS, PA – Host Misericordia University scored the first 12 goals of the game on its way to a 20-6 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) victory against the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team Wednesday night at Manglesdorf Field.

Domenica Lerch (Northampton, PA/Northampton) scored three goals to notch her sixth game of at least three goals this season.

Misericordia improved to 10-5 overall and stayed unbeaten at 5-0 in the MAC Freedom with the victory. The home team raced out to a 12-0 lead by the 12:16 mark of the first half. Camryn Devitt (Northampton, PA/Northampton) scored her 17th of the season to put Wilkes on the board with 5:01 left until halftime. The Cougars would enter the break with a 15-1 lead.

Lerch scored three second half goals to bring her season total to 28. Kyra Boccio (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) (40) and Sierra Duman (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna) (17) also scored. Sarah Carlini (Collegeville, PA/Pope John Paul II) made 16 saves for the Colonels. Wilkes dropped to 0-5 in the conference and to 6-7 overall with the road loss.

The Colonels face their final non-conference opponent of the season when they travel to Cazenovia College on Monday, April 22 for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
