EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University Colonels hosted No. 19 Arcadia University at Schmidt Stadium Saturday afternoon for a showdown with the nationally-ranked Knights.
 
The Colonels (2-3-1) struggled to muster much offense as they fell 3-0 to the Knights (8-0-1) and their second-half offensive barrage.
 
The Colonels kept pace with Arcadia throughout the first half, heading into the locker room after 45 minutes with a 0-0 draw.  Arcadia found the net early in the second half though, as they put home a chip shot in the box at the 48^th minute to draw first blood.  Arcadia later took advantage of one of their 13 corner kicks on the afternoon in the 66^th minute to extend their lead to 2-0. 
 
Arcadia netted another goal with a cluster of Knights in front of the goal in the 88^th minute to punctuate the afternoon's proceedings.
 
Senior goalkeeper Samantha Cecere (Batavia, NY/Batavia) had three saves on the afternoon.  The Colonels had two shots as a team.
 
The Colonels look to bounce back Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with another non-conference home tilt at Schmidt Stadium against Scranton.
