Wilkes Basketball Set for Weekend Trip to FDU-Florham
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's basketball teams will travel to FDU-Florham to continue Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play Saturday in Madison, NJ. The women's game will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the men following at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Preview:
Wilkes enters Saturday's contest with a 6-10 overall record, 0-5 in MAC Freedom games and are coming off a 75-53 loss to King's College at home Wednesday night.
Macy Berryman (Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mountain East) led the Colonels with 16 points against King's in their last matchup. The freshman guard is second on the team for points and ranks seventh in the conference for 3-PT Field Goal Percentage of .345. Katelyn Kinczel (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) also had a noteworthy contribution with a late three-pointer where the King's lead was cut. Kinczel ranks third on the team for three-point percentage at 37 percent (18-49).
Junior guard Maddie Kelley (Dallas, PA/Dallas) was able to put eight points on the board on Wednesday while also leading the team in points-per-game (ppg) at 8.1 along with rebounds-per-game (rpg) at 6.0.
Wilkes ranks seventh in the conference in scoring offense at 53.7 ppg and fourth in scoring defense at 61.3 ppg.
FDU-Florham enters with a 3-13 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the conference.
Jayda Bing leads the Devils with 12.9 ppg while Cayla Staggers follows close behind with 10.5 ppg. Bing also ranks first with the Devils and fifth in the conference in rebounding with an 8.2 per-game average.
FDU-Florham ranks sixth in the conference in scoring offense with 58.5 ppg and seventh for scoring defense with 70.1 ppg.
FDU holds the 16-2 lead in the series against Wilkes dating to the 2010 season.
Men's Preview:
Wilkes is 8-8 overall and 1-4 in MAC Freedom play after a 75-72 loss to King's at home Wednesday night.
Senior guard Mark Mullins (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) put up 10 points during Wednesday's matchup and is ranked sixth in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.8 ppg. He also ranks sixth in conference in rebounding (6.9 rpg) and field-goal percentage (52 percent). Along with Mullins, Jake Robel (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) was also able to gain 10 points against King's. Robel takes fourth on the team with 9.1 ppg while also taking fourth in the conference shooting 58 percent (66-113).
Senior guard Rob Pecorelli (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) contributed 12 points on the offensive end against Kings; Pecorelli leads the team averaging 17.2 ppg. Ranking among the top conference leaders, Pecorelli takes fifth in points, eighth in rebounding (6.8 rpg), and second in assists (4.4 assists-per-game).
Mullins and Pecorelli rank top-10 scoring in the conference while Robel and fellow teammate Sean Coller (Hershey, PA/Hershey) take top-25.
The Colonels lead the MAC Freedom in scoring offense at 78.6 ppg and fifth at 74.5 in scoring defense.
FDU-Florham is set to host the Colonels with a 7-9 overall record and a 2-3 MAC Freedom record.
Oliver Ortman leads the Devils in points with 299, averaging 18.7 ppg and ranks second in points in the conference. Not far behind, is fellow teammate Andy Fleurantin who is at 297 points and 18.6 ppg and ranks third in the conference.
The Devils rank sixth in scoring offense with 71.1 ppg and seventh in scoring defense with 75.9 ppg.
Wilkes holds the 12-6 lead in the series against the Devils going back to 2010.
