WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Wilkes University wrestling team took seven of ten bouts including two falls on way to a 30-11 victory over host Penn College Friday night.
 
Wilkes improved to 9-9 overall in dual matches extending its win streak to three following the road victory. Penn College dropped to 5-15 overall in dual competitions.
 
Nicholas Bauer (Coplay, PA/Wyoming Seminary) began the match with a forfeit win at 125 before Jack Bauer (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) controlled his 133-pound bout winning by decision 7-3. Kyle Medrow (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) made it 16-0 after three bouts with a fall in 1:59 at 141.
 
Dylan O'Connor (Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) forged out a 4-3 decision at 149 before Penn College took slim decision wins at 157 and 165 as the Colonels continued to lead 19-6. John DeVito earned a 14-7 decision at 174 before Penn College blanked the Colonels at 184 with an 18-0 technical fall. Moustafa Almeky (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) pinned his opponent in 1:57 at 197 before Roger Horton (Towanda, Pa./Athens) finished off the Wilkes victory with a 9-4 decision at 285.
 
Wilkes remains idle until next Sunday, February 9^th when the Colonels travel to nearby Scranton, Pa. for a dual match against the University of Scranton starting at 12:00 p.m.
