WILKES-BARRE – Visiting No. 16 Ithaca College captured eight of the ten bouts including all eight for extra-points as the Bombers cruised to a 41-6 win over host Wilkes University Friday night in the Marts Center.
 
Wilkes dropped to 10-10 overall in dual matches this season while Ithaca improved to 11-4 on the year.
 
Ithaca earned two extra-point victories in the first two bouts of the match claiming a major decision at 125 and fall at 133 to jump out to a 10-0 lead.
 
Kyle Medrow (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) put Wilkes on the board with a hard-fought 2-0 decision win over Tito Colom at 141 as the Colonels trailed 10-3 after three bouts. Medrow and Colom went scoreless through two periods before Medrow choose top and rode Colom out the final period adding a stalling point to the win.
 
Ithaca then used five straight extra-point wins including back-to-back falls at 165 and 174, major decision at 149 and technical fall at 184 to race out to a 35-3 advantage.
 
Moustafa Almeky (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) put three more points on the board for Wilkes earning a 6-2 decision win over Dymir Davis-Carruth at 197. After a scoreless first period, Almeky chose bottom and escaped before maneuvering for a takedown to lead 3-1 after two. He then finished off the match with another takedown and riding time to seal the win.
 
Ithaca finished off the match with a third period fall at heavyweight to seal the road dual win.
 
Wilkes makes its final home appearance next Friday hosting cross-town rival King's College at 7:00 p.m. at the Marts Center. The Colonels will also honor their seniors prior to the match.
