WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels women's ice hockey team hosted the Elmira Eagles for a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup at the Toyota SportsPlex Monday afternoon.

The Colonels (4-16-1, 3-11-1 UCHC) fell to the Eagles (17-4-2, 12-2-0 UCHC), ranked number four in the last USCHO.com poll as of puck drop, in an 8-0 affair.

The Colonels allowed five first period goals and three in the second, but shut the Eagles out of the third period entirely.  Sophomore Alexa Rango (Hopewell Junction, NY/) had 15 saves in the first period and earned the loss.  Coming in at the start of the second, sophomore goaltender Allyson Jolly had 38 saves and three goals allowed in almost two full periods of play.  Freshman defender Valerie Koenig (Arlington, TX) had seven blocked shots on the day, a career high.

The Colonels look to finish their season strong with a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference games in the area.  They play at King's College Friday at 3:30 p.m., before hosting Stevenson at the Toyota SportsPlex for a 3:30 p.m. tilt on Saturday to conclude their season.  The Colonels defeated the Monarchs 3-2 at the SportsPlex earlier this season, and lost at Stevenson 1-3.
